Palthis angulalis

The Dark-spotted Palthis is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found from Newfoundland west to coastal British Columbia, south to Florida and Texas.
Dark Spotted Palthis - Palthis angulalis TL: 18 mm. Brown forewings have oblique median band that stops short of the costa. Reniform spot is a slanting, brown crescent. Apical patch is rusty brown. Outer third of the forewings are tightly creased. Males have upturned labial palps.

Habitat: Attracted to a 395 nm LED light in a semi-rural area

Appearance

The wingspan is 20–26 mm. Adults are on wing from May to August in Alberta. There are two generations in much of the eastern part of its range, three or more generations from Missouri southward.
Palthis angulalis?? I've never seen such a dark Palthis angulalis, but I'm not sure what else it could be.
