Pine Sawfly

A member of the family Diprionidae (conifer sawflies), the pine sawfly is a species native to Europe and introduced to North America in the early 1900s. It lives its life cycle in coniferous trees where, if a large enough population is found, it can stunt the growth of its host tree.
