Appearance

The body is yellow with a large violet dorsal patch basally and another one apically. Apart from the nominate form with the two purple patches, there is a var. flavus, in which the dark pigmentation is orange-yellow (resulting in an almost completely evenly yellowish animal) and a var. puncteolus where the patches are speckled.
