    1. Considering ... thanks Christine ;o) Posted 4 years ago
      1. Really, though! It's so tiny! Amazing that you got such clear photos. I assume this cutie didn't just sit still and pose for you. They are tough to photograph! So, VERY well done! Posted 4 years ago
        1. Thanks Christine. I'm not too happy with the images myself (so your support is welcome!), but as you guessed it was a complete "moving target" series, with about 90+% total fails - amazing how fast these move, considering *rolleyes* It's the first image of this colour-var. on waarneming.nl, so I decided it must be worthwhile to upload anyway ;o) Posted 4 years ago
  2. Mad respect for this, Arp! Posted 4 years ago
    1. While trying to get the restless bugger onto the toothpick it would jump away again and again (around 2-5cm at a time) - darn hard to find it back, even on a clean table *rolleyes* :-P Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
  3. What a cutie!! That is unbelievably small! Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
    1. There seem to be even smaller species of springtails (in the .25mm range for adults), but I've never actually "found" one of those (eyesight? *rolleyes*). Jan van Duinen has a nice page featuring some of these:

      1. I'll be keeping an eye out for those. And then miss them. Posted 4 years ago
        1. This one was trodding around some eggs of a Pentatomidae that I was zooming in on when I saw it moving (me, much like a dinosaur, only seeing it's prey when it moves ;o) I wouldn't be surprised if I had missed it if it had been sitting still - and that is looking through a magnifying camera setup *rolleyes* Posted 4 years ago
