Magdalis (Porrothus) cerasi (Linnaeus, 1758) is Weevil (Curculionoidea) in the family Curculionidae, subfamily Mesoptiliinae, common on Cherry and other trees in the Rosaceae over a large range in Europe east to Siberia, becoming less common to the south but still reaching northern Africa.

Appearance

Like other Magdalis this is a relatively small (2.5-4mm) Weevil, all dull black, parallel sided, with a bell shaped pronotum. Males of this species have a notably longer antenna club than the females.
