Balclutha impicta

Sometimes this species has spotted wings, and sometimes not. Body color varies from green to pale brown to almost white. The very short head, which is also much narrower than the thorax, is distinctive for this species in eastern North America. 2.5-4 mm (females are larger than males).

In the west there is a look-alike, B. manitou. In the east B. punctata is similar.
