''Ophiusa parcemacula'' is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is found in New Guinea, New Caledonia and the northern half of Australia.

Observed yesterday whilst gardening. Movement caught my attention, I pulled the foliage back to reveal this lovely moth. It opened its wings, vibrated them a little - I took a couple of shots and then off it flew. 

There are reports of larvae eating mistletoe (family Loranthaceae) and blake paperbark (family Myrtaceae).

The wingspan is about 60 mm.

Food

The larvae feed on ''Loranthaceae'' and ''Melaleuca quinquenervia''.
