Figure eight moth, wings open before flight <br />
Observed yesterday whilst gardening. Movement caught my attention, I pulled the foliage back to reveal this lovely moth. It opened its wings, vibrated them a little - I took a couple of shots and then off it flew. <br />
<br />
There are reports of larvae eating mistletoe (family Loranthaceae) and blake paperbark (family Myrtaceae). <br />

''Ophiusa parcemacula'' is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is found in New Guinea, New Caledonia and the northern half of Australia.
