''Acronicta lithospila'', the streaked dagger moth, is a moth of the family Noctuidae described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1874. It is found in Canada and the United States.
Streaked Dagger - Acronicta lithospila TL: ~20 mm. Gray forewings with light streaks along dark veins. Thin, dark basal and anal dashes. Status: uncommon. 

Hosts: oak and chestnut

Habitat: Attracted to a light in a rural area. To my cats delight, this moth followed me inside. Thankfully, I caught it before they did.

Appearance

The wingspan is about 35 mm. Adults are on wing from June to August depending on the location.

Food

The larvae feed on hickory and oak.
