
Unidentified Larva (from egg) - Curculionidae?
I found a bunch of eggs in some very rotten wood....This photo shows the larva from one of the eggs.
The eggs were about 5 mm long and were hard - in fact, I wondered if they might be seeds at first. I took a couple home and cracked one open under my digital scope to examine the larva. It was off-white, squishy (ha!), and had little, pinching mouthparts (see video).

maybe have a look at what small Curculionidae in the direction of 24Cionini you may have that fit the habitat. The cocoons and the legless larva remind me very much of these Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
