  1. A spiky steltvlieg :) Posted 6 years ago
    1. Nice, you remembered :) Spiky -> Prikkelig Posted 6 years ago
      1. Cool...so, prikkelig steltvlieg. Posted 6 years ago
        1. It would be "prikkeligE steltvlieg" as in...
          "This steltvlieg is prikkelig"
          "It is a prikkeligE steltvlieg"
I can't even explain the grammar rule, I only know the outcome :)

          1. Grammar can be such a punk and makes learning languages so much more difficult.

            1. Totally agree, it adds no value, just useless brain cycles. Posted 6 years ago
              1. Yeah. Noah's English curriculum is really deep on grammar and so I'm going through the motions of teaching all the obscure grammatical terms and rules to him, even though I'm secretly thinking that his knowing the definition of a reflexive pronoun will never truly be useful. But, things like punctuation and apostrophes clearly have their place. For example, a well-placed apostrophe is the difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t. Posted 6 years ago
                1. If you manage to raise a teen that can produce a grammatically correct sentence that also has no spelling errors, I'm thinking you're going to be a very famous mum. Posted 6 years ago
                  1. Haha, goals. I already have a 10-year old that matches that criteria. Posted 6 years ago
                    1. Yes, but now also when nobody is watching. And online. And without mum leaning over. Posted 6 years ago
                      1. Good points. Noah is an unusual child though...He wrote his first book at age 4 and has written several since. He's far from a best-selling author, but his books have sold several hundred copies and he donates all proceeds to charity <3. He even has a book on amazon. When he wrote his first book, I told him that I could edit it for him and check his grammar. He responded by asking me what my qualifications were, haha. Posted 6 years ago
                        1. lol, and wow that is impressive. Reading back my last comment I think it could be seen as quite snarky, did not mean it like that! Noah is impressive just like his mum. Posted 6 years ago
  2. And, the thread ended...I didn't think you were being snarky...One of the perks of being on the autism spectrum is that I don't always pick up on snark, unless I'm the one being snarky. In fact, you could probably be legitimately snarky towards me and I would just giggle and move on, unaffected ;P.

I just took your comment as one of your usual, humorous quips that you know I adore.
