
Fly-mimicking Weevil - front view, La Isla Escondida, Colombia
Here it is, the weevil highlight of our trip. To quote from Andreas Kay's observation:
"This little Weevil from the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador is about 5 mm in size and mimics a Flesh Fly, which protects it from predators such as birds because they do not waste time trying to catch what seems to be such a swift prey."

As for the ID, it's likely the Mnemynurus genus, yet it is very poorly documented online.
