Fly-mimicking Weevil, La Isla Escondida, Colombia Here it is, the weevil highlight of our trip. To quote from Andreas Kay&#039;s observation:<br />

&quot;This little Weevil from the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador is about 5 mm in size and mimics a Flesh Fly, which protects it from predators such as birds because they do not waste time trying to catch what seems to be such a swift prey.&quot;<br />

As for the ID, it&#039;s likely the Mnemynurus genus, yet it is very poorly documented online.<br />
