  1. The antennae are enormous! Posted 9 years ago
    1. Yes, for this species.
Sometimes, the antennae are part of the key to determine the different genus of Phasmids.
Some like this one has longer antennae than their front legs, some are medium length but shorter than their front legs and there are others that has extremely short antennae.
Sometimes, there are also differences between antennae length of Male & Females of the same species, for example the Leaf Insects/Phylliums, the Male only gets very long antennae during their final moult to adulthood whereas the Female remains with fairly short antennae.

Male has full wings and capable of flights and they also have very long antennae. Females have wings but not capable of flights and their antennae is very short. Their colours can varies from green to yellow/orange with patches of brown to camouflage with their surroundings of not just leafs but older leafs or dead leafs.
