Leaf Insect - Phyllium philippinicum This is a pair of Leaf Insect - Phyllium philippinicum.  The Male is the smaller one, on top of the bigger Female.<br />
Male has full wings and capable of flights and they also have very long antennae. Females have wings but not capable of flights and their antennae is very short.  Their colours can varies from green to yellow/orange with patches of brown to camouflage with their surroundings of not just leafs but older leafs or dead leafs.     1. Yes, many Taxanomist now describing new species of Phasmids prefers to work on them only if they have materials of Males & Females to prevent misidentifying them, which happens in several occasions from the past. Posted 9 years ago

Phyllium philippinicum is a species of walking leaf insect and part of the order (Phasmatodea) which include stick insects. This is a perfect mimic of a leaf.
