Emperor gum moth with advanced and young instar. The emperor gum moth with its large green larvae with purple tipped tubercles festooned with stinging thorns has become rather scarce, probably due to predation by european wasps.  Other species in saturniidae have similar giant green larvae;<br />

The Emperor gum moth is a species of moth in the family Saturniidae, that is native to Australia. This species was formerly placed in the genus "Antheraea".
