
The spring peeper is a small chorus frog widespread throughout the eastern United States and Canada. They are so called because of their chirping call that marks the beginning of spring.

I've seen so many young American Toads this year, I just kind of assumed without looking closely. I saw the familiar behavior, and the X pattern on the back... didn't even think twice about the pattern being smooth and fully connected instead of several distinct spots. Posted 10 years ago
