Caddisfly Egg Mass and Larvae - Trichoptera Gelatinous egg mass. It was at least a meter from a pond&#039;s edge. Usually, the female will deposit the egg mass on vegetation hanging over, or at least right next to, the water&#039;s surface. <br />
<br />
I brought it home to watch the eggs hatch under my microscope, but did not keep them to rear because I didn&#039;t think I could accomplish it and didn&#039;t want to kill them.<br />
