Green Lichen - P Test Results P tests are sometimes done to help ID a lichen. This was my first time doing it and I&#039;m not sure if I did it correctly. The procedure was to mix a crystal of para-phenylenediamine (P) with ethanol, then place a drop of the solution on the lichen. It turned parts of the lichen yellowish-orange.<br /> <br /> I also did a NaClO test (Bleach) and KOH (potassium hydroxide).
