  Yes. It is often intensely ugly and looks like burned dinner rolls. This species was a first for me, but I frequently find other Hydnellum/Sarcodon species of tooth fungi growing en masse in the forest. Some of the species have some unique bioactive compounds, like H. peckii, which has anticoagulant compounds that could be useful in medicines. Plus, there is the gorgeous Hydnellum ferrugineum, which I would LOVE to see someday. Posted 3 years ago
