      And, hmm. Very good point. Maybe it isn't sex-related and the bottom dragonfly simply emerged first, and the top one crawled on top of its exuvia by chance?       Posted 4 years ago

      Thanks :). In comparison, I saw very few exuviae this summer/early autumn. I keep looking, but haven't seen any since July-ish. I suspect the drought has impacted the dragonfly population at this pond. Posted 2 years ago

        My pleasure! The drought surely had impact not only on the dragon flies. It was very bad all over, here as well.
        Never mind this process of of leaving the old and too small exoskeleton has something very archaic and alien to me. The chance to get the set you captured is so small, so congrats!         Posted 2 years ago
