    1. Thanks for the input! I agree, especially after seeing this girlie stashing her egg sac in the underside of one of the galls. I'm assuming she intends the critters from the gall to be food for her babies? Or, it could be a coincidence. Also, there are a couple small mites in the spider photo.
      Spider with Egg Sac - Family Linyphiidae This spider was putting her egg sac in the underside of a gall (Aceria triplacis galls). In the upper right of this photo, you can see 2 tiny spider mites. <br />

      1. I just got some feedback -- the galls are from a mite, but not the ones in the spider photo. The spider placing the eggs in the gall depression may be intentional, or not. Posted 4 years ago
