Taken on same day as the other attached photos, tried to get a couple of perspectives. I thought this might be a potter wasp or ground wasp, however the body seems to be solid from the tip of the abdomen to the thorax.<br />

Found on Purple plant (It might be in the aster family. Has very long back legs, and variegated leg joints. Wish I had better photos, it was very shady and along a roadside, so not all views were possible.<br />

Taken same day as attached photos of same insect. There was a lot of shade in this area, therefore the wings look black instead of brown. This shows how thick the black area is on the back leg joints.<br />

The Texas Wasp Moth is a moth of the subfamily Arctiinae. It is found in South America, Central America, Mexico, the Antilles and southern United States. The wingspan is 32–34 mm. Adults are on wing year round. They mimic a paper wasp.
