ID help is much appreciated! Is this a Leccinum or Leccinellum sp.? Growing under mostly oak and hickory trees in a dense mixed forest in Gordon County, GA, US.September 5, 2020.
Cap/upper surface: : Highly cracked brown and cream.
Flesh: white. Stains immediately to pale green near center of flesh. Stains lavender near the tube layer. Turns to a deeper lavender throughout the flesh within 30seconds+
Fertile surface: White. Stains brownish/olive.
Stipe: White with gray/black scabers. Some greenish staining from handling.
Taste: Pleasant, slight sour notes.
Odor: Pleasant.
Chemistry: KOH – slight yellowing on cap. Ammonia-no reaction. Iron salts- slight green color on fertile surface.
