I am interested in freshwater ascomycetes and my research focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of this ecological group of fungi. I am also interested in understanding the diversity and distribution patterns of freshwater ascomycetes. In the past few years, I have been fascinated by the diversity of secondary metabolites from ascomycetes and their potential impacts on both discovery of pharma drugs as well as agrochemicals. I want to harness the potential of fungal diversity and use it towards both teaching and research. I am always interested in learning about the fungal kingdom.
