![Caloptilia fidella - Leaf mine and roll My Moth for today :o) [Moth Week 2020]
Caloptilia fidella develops on Common Hop (Humulus lupulus), at first in a leaf mine branching off of the main vein. Later the caterpillar leaves the mine and spins a protective roll from the tip of the leaf (or other part of the margin) where it feeds on the inside for a while. It may later abandon this case/roll and create another one for fresh food, before pupating.
