Lavandula viridis is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family.
The scientific authority of the species is L'Hér., and was published in Sertum anglicum 19. 1789.

Distribution

It is a species present in Portuguese territory, namely in Portugal, the Azores and Madeira.
In terms of naturalness is native to mainland Portugal and Madeira, being introduced in the Azores Archipelago.

Status

Not protected by any Portuguese law or the European Community.

Habitat

On the edge or under covered with cork oaks, oaks, holm, pine trees.
Often in sheds or dark ravines, on stony acid substrates (schists, syenite, rarely sandstones).
