Silene acutifolia is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family. The scientific authority of the species is Link ex Rohrb., and was published in Monogram. Silene 141 1869. It is a species present in Portuguese territory, including in Portugal.

Appearance

Annual, biennial or perennial, herbaceous, sometimes with the base of the stems lignified, hermaphrodite or dioecious, rarely monoecious or polygamous plants. Leaves opposite, entire, without stipules. Inflorescence monocasio, dicasio or dicasial panicle, rarely, by reduction with solitary flowers.

Distribution

In terms of naturalness is an endemism of the Iberian Peninsula.

Status

Not protected by Portuguese law or the European Community.

Habitat

Rupicolous communities in rock crevices and gravel in granites, rarely on schists.
