Appearance
The head is orange. Pronotum - orange with central black variable patch.Scutellum - black or orange.
Elytra - black but broken by one or two irregular orange transverse bands and sometimes the basal edge of the elytra are also orange.
The suture and skirt may be black or orange. The black regions might be broken into smaller pieces by orange bars.
Antennae are orange at the base and tending towards black at the apex.
Legs are brown or black.
This beetle is neatly hemispherical. The striae are very fine and almost absent. Very fine puncturations occur evenly across the elytra. Antennae are about 50% length of the body.
This is considered one of the most variable species in Paropsisterna both in size and pattern.

Widespread across Northern Australia.New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia
