Appearance

Cap - Diameter to 20 mm; convex with slightly depressed centre; vivid blood-red; slimy when moist; margin translucent-striate.
Gills - Adnate to decurrent; fairly close; slightly paler red than cap and stem; various lengths.
Stem - Central; length to 30 mm, slender; cylindrical; blood-red; slimy when moist, with blobs of gluten when fresh. Basal mycelium fluffy white.
Spore Print - White
Ruby bonnets (Mycena viscidocruenta) These tiny Mycena are fairly common in leaf and twig litter soon after rains. 
They don't stay viscid for long but they're beautiful while it lasts.
This one is about 6mm across the cap and about 20mm tall.
Found in a local nature reserve under small eucalyptus.
