A large dragonfly found in the south east corner of Australia (not Tasmania)
Southern Evening Darner (Telephlebia brevicauda) Quite a large dragonfly with distinctive markings through the wings. 
Head, thorax and abdomen have brown and caramel colours.
Resting on a dried leaf near ground level in a local nature reserve.

Appearance

Distinctive markings through the wings including cream pterostigma, dark netted bars just behind the costa, caramel and pale tan coloured body and eyes(head).
Approx. 100mm wingspan

Australia in southern NSW and Victoria

Habitat

Near water in medium density to open dry scleorphyll woodlands.
