Not Exciting... This was not an exciting find but the smallest subject that I could find on a wet morning. Cryptomastix germana not known to JungleDragon but this was about .15mm round. I couldn't take multiple shots to stack focus at 1:1 so I had to use a flash and f20 to get enough in focus to be fairly happy with the results. Aegopinella nitidula,Geotagged,United States

Appearance

The shell is amber reddish in colour, rarely whitish. It is milky white near the umbilicus. The shell is finely striated with spiral lines producing a fine reticular pattern. The apex is strongly convex with 3.5-4.5 convex and regularly increasing whorls. The last whorl is not inflated near the aperture and not descending. The aperture is slightly oblique and the umbilicus is wide. The animal is bluish grey with a lighter sole and bluish black upper tentacles.
