Distribution

Pholidoptera femorata occurs especially in the Balkan Peninsula and Asia Minor, but obviously also very locally in Southern France.

Behavior

Adults appear between early summer and autumn. They often sunbath on leaves or outer parts of herbs and bushes in the morning, but hide very quickly when you try to approach.

Pholidoptera femorata often inhabits shrub-rich margins of grasslands and woodlands and similar places with insolation, but which offer also safe cover.
