Some individuals are very curious, the most are very aggressive. All are arboreal and feed on lizards, snakes, eggs, small mammals and small birds.

Appearance

The Green Cat Snake has a long body, head distinctly broader than neck, and large eyes with vertical pupils. Body color is green whereas color of lower jaw is cyan. Its long prehensile tail makes it purely arboreal . Hatchlings are reddish brown with a green head. The color of the hatchlings starts to change after 8–9 months of age.

The Boiga cyanea is a nocturnal species that usually lives in forests where it feeds on lizards, other snakes, small rodents, frogs . This rear fanged & mildly venomous snake can paralyze small prey. If threatened, it will become hostile and posture with a wide open mouth.

Distribution

The green cat snake is a species of nocturnal opisthoglyphous snake found in India , Bangladesh, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand , Myanmar, West Malaysia, and parts of China .
