Hieracium albiflorum

Hieracium albiflorum

The common wildflower ''Hieracium albiflorum'' is known by the names white hawkweed and white-flowered hawkweed.

It is found in western North America, from Alaska to California and east to the Rockies. Some hawkweeds were introduced to North America and are invasive weeds in the region, but white hawkweed is native and is a part of the balanced ecology.
It is shaped like a dandelion, with hairy, elliptical leaves and long stalks that bear small white flowers with serrated petals. The plant is found in forests and woodlands at low to moderate elevation.
