Locust Blowfly

Stomorhina lunata

''Stomorhina lunata'' is a species of fly in the family Calliphoridae, often misidentified because of the unusual band pattern in the abdomen, typical of hoverflies. ''S. lunata'' is an important egg predator of some major African agricultural pests, the South African Brown locust, the more widespread Desert locust, and the migratory locust.
