This small beetle is found in southern France, North Africa and predominantly more in the Iberian Peninsula of Europe. Elytra are narrowed behind exposing part of the hind wings. It is thought the larvae develop inside the stems of herbaceous plants.

Appearance

Length: 7 to 11mm. Adults on wing: April to August.

Food

The adults mainly feed from the nectar of many different flowers mainly from the parsley family of plants, known as umbellifers.
