Northern Western Ghats vine snake

Ahaetulla borealis

The northern Western Ghats vine snake is a species of tree snake endemic to the northern Western Ghats of India.
Eyes of the Vine.. I think this is the only snake species with Horizontal pupils..
Wanted to shoot this species from front and finally I got the opportunity in Amboli forest where my friend Nitin spotted almost 9 green vine snakes in just 3 hours and he mentioned its still less number!! Can you imagine!!

This species is often seen feeding on other snakes and are excellent in their camouflage!! They look gorgeous and beautiful!!
