Himantoglossum jankae is a relatively tall orchid (40-90 cm) that forms two oval underground tubers. Its leaves are grey-green and elliptic. The 20-40 flowers are gathered in loose clusters. The sepals are violet-white with longitudinal lines and together form a hood. The plant is pollinated by insects and reproduces by seeds.
