Appearance

Evergreen Perennial growing to 1 m (3ft 3in) by 1 m (3ft 3in). It is in leaf all year, in flower from August to October.

Europe, Mediterranean.

Behavior

The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects.

Habitat

Chiefly ruderale. Gardens, bluffs, ditches, weed-infested and slightly saline places, pastures and wormwood steppes in irrigated areas.

Uses

Used as a flavouring for tea.
