Appearance

18-20mm. This species is larger than fuscifrons, with a more irregular forewing margin and a more rounded hindwing one. The ground colour is more a dull, pale orange, with the more purplish zone distal to the fasciae only slightly (rather than abruptly) darker. The reniform is conspicuous, dark brown. The pale submarginal markings are also more conspicuous, ovate rather than lunulate, two and a smaller one at the forewing apex, and three at the hindwing dorsum. The male genitalia have a shorter uncus. The valves are straight, rather than outturned, and much more robust with a more complex array of small processes subbasally.

Distribution

Borneo, Palawan, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Burma
