Appearance

Compared to C. julis, atlantica have longer pelvic fins, more suborbital pores, and configuration of the lateral line tubules.

Distribution

Eastern Atlantic Ocean: Cape Verde to Liberia.

Habitat

Inhabits rocky rubble areas near eelgrass beds and usually found at depths between 100 – 130 feet (30– 40 m) where it feeds on benthic invertebrate, usually hard-shelled invertebrates.
