Appearance

Bright yellow polyps. There are also orange color morphs. This coral differs from other alikes of the genus Tubastraea by having a phaceloid to dendroid growth form with new corallites budding at an acute angle from the theca of a parent corallite. It also has normally arranged septa and poorly developed columella.

Distribution

Cape Verde archipelago, Eastern Atlantic.

Habitat

Form colonies in rock crevices and wrecks.
