Orthetrum villosovittatum

"Orthetrum villosovittatum" is a species of dragonfly that ranges from Victoria through eastern New South Wales and Queensland, north inland Queensland, the Cape York Peninsula and north Northern Territory in Australia and overseas as far as the Moluccas, New Guinea and neighbouring islands. It is a common species through most of its range.
A dragonfly rescue It's been extremely windy here and I'm wondering if this is why I found this little beauty struggling in our pool. They have such a mastery of the skies, but perhaps the wind we received was just too much. They are so fragile, one wonders how on earth they survive any breeze at all.
After this shot, I took it to a warm sandstone rock in the hopes it might dry out and recover. Having to leave for a social engagement, I couldn't stay to see what happened - but it was gone when I returned home.
6 cm body length, immature specimen.

Going by the appendages, a female.
