Appearance

Dark brown to black, small blue dots on the head and around the eyes, white tail, black dot at the upper corner of the operculum, caudal peduncle free from black spot, dorsal, pectoral and anal fins edged in blue. Resembles Pomacentrus trichrourus. Adult size max. 6cm

Distribution

Red Sea.

Habitat

Depth 1 - 12m.
Rocky or coral reefs and sometimes found in shoals.

Reproduction

Oviparous, reproduction occurs in pairs, the pairing is distinct. The eggs are deposited and adhere to the substrate, then the males protect and aerate them.

Food

Omnivores, they feed on algae, small invertebrates, eggs and zooplankton.

Defense

As adults, they defend their territory with courage.
