Appearance

Height 5-10cm, stems ascending to erect, unbranched and hairy. Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 5-15mm long, 0.5-4mm wide, ciliate at the base. Bracts shorter than, or the same length as the flowers. Flowers in terminal clusters of three to six, 1.5-3cm long. E.g. subsp. graminifolius has flowers bluish to violet; in subsp. niveus they are white.

Distribution

Balkan peninsula, southern Italy and Sicily.

Habitat

Mountain rocks and cliffs.
