Appearance

A small - medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by a loose tubular sheath in the lower third and 2 more at the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, broadly cordate-ovate, obtuse, shortly acuminate, deeply cordate into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on a successively single to few flowered inflorescence arising through a suberect, conduplicate spathe at the base of the leaf and has tubular floral bracts.

Naming

The genus is often abbreviated as "Pths" in horticultural trade.
