Elongate, cane-like, branching branches progressively shorter, new stems arising from the sub-apical node of the previous stem carrying 3 to 15, all along the stem, alternate, articulate, narrowly elliptic, acute, basally clasping, green with purple spots, apical margin minutely papillose leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an apical, without a spathe, paniculate, with a narrowly triangular, acuminate bract at the base of each branch, peduncle terete, lacking bracts, filiform, rachis filiform, zig-zag, .8 to 4.8" [2 to 12 cm] long, overall, simultaneously 9 to 40, flowered inflorescence arising on a mature stem with triangular, acute clasping floral bracts and carrying small, delicate, resupinate flowers with the sepals and lip greenish to pinkish purple or brown and the petals hyaline white to purple.
