Tenthredo koehleri

Appearance

The adult abdomen is covered with yellow-black cross stripes; the tora is black. The lower part of the legs is yellow and the upper part is black.

Naming

A synonym for the genus is Elinora.

Distribution

The original occurrence of Tenthredo koehler is in Europe, but it has been introduced to other parts of the planet.

Behavior

Plant parasite: Arabidopsis, Cardamine.

Habitat

T. koehleri is locally common in the hills and mountains of central and south-eastern Europe
from the Pyrenees to Bulgaria and from Belgium to south Italy.

Food

Adults are mostly found feeding in flowers of Geranium, but oviposition has been observed on Cardamine amara L. and Myosotis palustris The larvae feed on Cardamine amara L. and on Cardaminopsis halleri (Brassicaceae) but not on Myosotis.
