Silky lacewings are small and delicate insects distinguishable in their adult stage by their patterned, pubescent wings with a broad wing shape, dense venation, and the presence of a vena triplica (the apical fusion of three veins in the hindwing)
Psychopsis insolens Psychopsis insolens is a member of the silky lacewing family Psychopsidae. These delicate and diaphanous insects are nocturnal and I found this one in repose on my house wall during the day.

The silky lacewings are distinguishable in their adult stage by their patterned wings which are covered in soft hair. The wings have a broad shape with marked venation.

Appearance

Usually on a flat surface with wings forming a classic rounded 'heart' shape. Wings are thin and semi translucent.
